ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre, Bhubaneswar launched Master in Public Health (MPH) programme in the year 2017 and currently running it’s 5th batch. The announcement for admission of MPH programme for the academic year 2023-24 (i.e., 6thcohort)will be announced  in July 2023 and the academic session will commence from September 2023. The annual intake is 30 students, out of which one-third (10 seats) will be reserved for ICMR in-house candidates.

Our Master in Public Health (MPH) is a two-year classroom-based post-graduate degree course(comprising 18 months of course work and six-month dissertation/thesis work) under Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. The aim is to create a skilled and efficient cohort of trained professionals to meet and exceed the public health research requirements of academia and the policy practice ecosystem. Towards this, our studentscome from diverse disciplinesnamely medical, dental, nursing, and allied health sciences, behavioural and social sciences as well as biological and other related sciences. The degree will be awarded by Utkal University, a NAAC-accreditedpremier state universityunder the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha. This program is in alignment with ICMR and DHR’s mandate of building capacity and capability in the area of humanhealth researchand health human resources development in India.

ICMR-RMRC is recognised research body for Undertaking Ph.D. Program under Utkal University, KIIT University, SOA University and AcSIR. Now ICMR is recognised as Medical Research Ph.D. Program under AcSIR

ICMR-RMRC, Bhubaneswar induct eligible candidates currently pursuing Masters in any branch of Life Science/ Microbiology/ Bioinformatics/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Statistics/ Master's in social sciences/ MSW/ Public Health and related disciplines to undertake dissertation/ project work as a part of their curriculum at this institute for the period of Six months w.e.f January to June. Recommendation letter from HOD/ Institute is mandatory for selection for dissertation program

 
Information on Dissertation/ Project Work: - 
  1. Institute accepts students for pursuing their dissertation work at ICMR-RMRC, Bhubaneswar as an essential part of their curriculum. Only those pursuing their master's degree are accepted for such dissertation or project work.
  2. In case of candidates pursing integrated M.Sc. degree and those completed at least three years of such course will also be considered.
  3. Number of students taken each year may vary depending upon availability of the supervisor.
  4. Students will be selected based on the carrier marks starting from H.S.C. to Graduation.
  5. Candidates devoting their full time for the dissertation or project during this study period will be considered.
  6.   The duration of dissretation work shall be Six months.
  7. ICMR-RMRC will not provide any stipend to the students.No Hostel facility available for the students.
  8. The advertisement for M.Sc. dissertation Project work appears in institute's Website in the month of November each year.
 

ICMR-RMRC, Bhubaneswar induct very limited Summer Internship students from National Institutes like NIT & IIT students in Biomedical Engineering, BioSciences and Life Sciences for the period of 8 weeks during May - June.
